Former player Danny Ainge served as GM of the Boston Celtics the past 18 years and brought incredible to success to the franchise -- building not just a championship roster, but also leveraging them to be in title contention for at least the next 5 years. Ainge even went as far as to groom his successor, Brad Stevens whom he hired in 2013 after the amazing March Madness run he and the Butler Bulldogs had that year.
Despite this, Brad Stevens is off to a terrible start in his new role, bringing in no new help for the co-stars that are Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Unfortunately for him and Celtics fans a narrative is starting to be built, and that narrative is that Brad Stevens is not the guy to drive this team back to a championship, and I agree.
As much as I hate the Celtics, it would be blatant ignorance to ignore the talent they currently have on their roster. Jayson Tatum is the real deal, and Jaylen Brown is, in my opinion, a better co-star to Tatum than Khris Middleton is to Giannis. The two built a culture in Boston when Tatum slammed it down Lebrons throat in the conference finals a few years back, and somehow the team has only regressed.
With stories leaking from players about how he's not the best to play for, and his inability to bring even a Finals appearance to the storied city, I am telling you right now that this Celtics team has the potential to be the next great "how did they not win anything team".
