A New York Knick has been named an all star for the first time since the Melo days of 2017.
That man is Julius Randle. The all-star nod is well deserved as the PF is having a career year. 23.2 PPG 11.0 RPG 5.5 APG 48/41/81%. Only one player in NBA history have averaged 20/10/5 on 40 3P% in a season — Larry Bird.
This Thibs led Knick squad has Randle looking like a different player. It was not too long ago since he was running around throwing bricks up. He was hot ass last year there is no denying it and I am guilty of letting him know that all over Twitter. Luckily, there has been a form going around for all my fellow Knicks fans to fill out.
Fill it out and move on. You know it is the right thing to do.
Now, I am going to write something else I may have to fill out an apology form for.
Despite my high praise for Randle this season, I still am an advocate for trading him. The Knicks aren't winning and this is probably the best he will ever play. We might as well secure one or maybe two firsts, packaged with a high upside youngster. It sucks, because I want to see him make the playoff push us Knick fans have been longing for.
However, I am saying this for the future of the Knicks.
That is a topic for another time though. For now, Congrats Julius. You earned it.
