TFL Week 3 in Review

Week Three started off with a different feel as the league is under Tied Up Entertainment’s name now. Most were ready to show out for the cameras and the crowds while others were just trying to play through their hangovers. Nonetheless, the games continued to provide us with a little extra Sunday entertainment.

Packin’ Bowls v The Armenian Football Team

The Sunday entertainment started off with a great matchup, but a little controversy is always expected when Captain Andrew “Scoops” Dipietro and Packin Bowls takes the field. Each team protested their 10 am games as they feel there is no place for games happening that early in the Sunday Ams. Despite a couple yack breaks, Scoops led the offense to a battle with Armenia’s QB Jason “Dibo” Dibenidetto. A highlight happened at the end of first half ended as Hail Mary was caught by a leaping Jared Carroll from receiver Marco Gencarelli. The Armenian Football team would not let Packin’ Bowls get ahead as the team had impressive offensive performances including some big catches by Captain Matthew Peteraf. The game was iced at the end as Scoops threw a game sealing TD to Jared Carrol. Caleb Brown and Packin Bowls look to keep the momentum going as they finally get away from the 10ams with a 12:00 game against Team Logan.

FINAL SCORE Packin Bowls 7-6

Assumption Greyhounds v Cheese Monsters

The Primetime game of the week features a top ranked offense and a top defense which left many wondering which side of the ball would prevail. After the first couple drives of the game it was evident this would be an offensive shootout. The first half had Assumption up 2 after 3 touchdowns from receiver Dante Trigo. The Cheese Monsters did whatever they could to stay in the game and by that it meant feed John Hickey. The MVP candidate looked impossible to get down as was a walking touchdown. If not Hickey it was the occasion scramble by Cam “Lamar” Prosser. With one minute to play QB Dan Schlossberg threw his 9th TD of regulation to John Nativo to put them up by one, but the lead was short lived as the Cheese Monsters tied up the game with John Hickeys 9th td reception of the day. The high scoring prime time game went into OT where it was college football styled. OT was quickly taken care of by star receiver John Caristi who scored two OT touchdowns to secure the win. The Cheese Monsters hope to find a better outcome next week when they matchup against The Irvington 69ers.

Final Score: Assumption 12-11 (OT)

Irvington 69ers v Washington Redskins

The final game of the day features what seemed to be two teams trending in opposite directions. The Redskins have been searching for an answer at QB, as they are trying to put top pick Austin Kilduff in the field, so they went with Adam Gelo this week. After his performance this week, the team may keep searching. The offense could not get much going as they were only able to put up two points in the day. One of those points, however, was a highlight when Tristan Martinez used the hit stick on Tyler Shockley to get into the end zone. On the opposing side there was only one answer at QB and that is MVP candidate Christian Logan. Logan and the offense put up 8 on the day as all receivers showed out on the day including some nice grabs by Mark Stachowski. The win makes the 69ers the only undefeated team left and look to keep it going as they have a tough matchup against top ranked defense, Packin Bowls.

Final Score: Irvington 69ers 8-2
